Easy ways to get over a bad mood

How often do you put on your happy face, but inside you are actually burning up from a bad mood? I know that was kind of dramatic, but you get the point. Anyhow, being in a bad mood can often feel like it’s not aloud. Therefor many of us are guilty of just putting on a fake mask, in hopes of tricking everybody into thinking that we are happy. But let’s be honest, you are not kidding anyone and don’t you deserve to actually be happy? I am agreeing on this one. So let’s make it happen!

Smile  

Smile. I’m sure you’ve heard this before and I know how annoying it is. How am I suppose to be happy just by smiling? But it will make you feel better physically. So I want you to smile your biggest smile from one ear to the other. And no, you do not look stupid.

Take a step back

Bring out a piece of paper and write down what you are in a bad mood about. Sometimes we can get so consumed in the bad mood that we forget to be logical and take a step back. This can help you see your issue in a new light. Why am I mad exactly? Is this worth being mad about? How can I change the perspective to something positive? This can help change your mood from a much deeper level.

Breathe

How often do you pay attention to your breath? Not very often I guess, correct me if i’m wrong. By paying attention to your breath, you can figure out your state of mind. When you get angry or scared, you’ll breathe short breaths. This upsets the body and it can therefor be hard to turn your mood into something positive, if you are feeding the negativity. However, breathing deeper and longer lowers your blood pressure and calms your body and your mind. This will help you think more clear. Therefor i’ve got this really cool breathing exercise for you. You need a running clock, it can either be on your phone, and watch or whatever else you’ve got available. The exercise takes 3 minutes. For the first 2 minutes, breath normally while counting every breath you take. So breathe in and out, that’s 1 breath. When you’ve finished the 2 minutes, we get to the important part. The loooong deeeeep breaths. You heard me. For 1 minute you will be breathing as long and deep as you can. You can even put a hand on your stomach, to make sure the air gets all the way down to your stomach. This will leave you calmer than ever. Ya welcome.

Complement yourself

This one is a though one. How do I know that? Because god forbid you complementing yourself. Is that not only cocky people who do that? No honey, it’s not. Think about it, how happy do you get when you receive a complement? Or should I say excited? It could even make you SMILE. I know it makes your day, as well as it does mine. However, complementing ourselves has somehow become illegal. It’s like a swear word. We are not allowed to complement ourselves, which I think it’s crazy because I compliment myself everyday all day. When you are in a bad mood you are in a need to a cheerleader, and in this case YOU are going to be that cheerleader. So i want you to tell yourself 5 complements. It can be though, but don’t give up. When you get to the 4th and the 5th, you will feel so good.
