A paleo bolognese recipe to die for

Who doesn’t love spaghetti bolognese? Also the cheese, mhh. However, the calories that comes from the pasta often makes us think twice before having spaghetti bolognese. Who wants to mess up their beach body results? Not me.

This is why i’d love to introduce you to Paleo. Paleo is a way of eating where you only consume what comes from nature. So no processed foods. If you are in doubt, pasta is a processed food. It’s man made. So I went to this paleo restaurant a couple of times and the food there is beyond delicious. The best thing about it? It’s freaking healthy. So I decided to re-create the bolognese Paleo style, and I swear this will become your favorite meal.

This meal is so simple and will bring your spaghetti bolognese from a 2 to a 20.

Preptime: 20 minutes

Cookingtime: 20 minutes

Serves 4


1 Tbs of olive oil

1/4 cup of fresh basil

1 medium onion

2 galic cloves

1 can of tomato sauce

1 cup of mushrooms

4 zucchinis

3 beetroots

3 parsnips

2 tsp. of chili powder

Salt and pepper to taste




Cut the onion into small pieces and toss them in the pot with the minced garlic cloves. Add olive oil and stir the onion around and let them simmer for about 5 minutes.

While the onions are cooking wash and rinse the mushrooms and cut them up. Add them into the pot and let them simmer until they are golden.

Now add the ground beef and let it cook until all of the meat is well done. Then stir in the tomato sauce, add the cut up basil and chili. Season it with salt and pepper and let it simmer.

While the sauce is cooking you want to prepare the ‘pasta’ which is substitute with zucchini, and root vegetables. Wash, rinse and them. Use a spiral fruit cutter to make the vegetables come out like pasta.

Bring out another pot and cook the vegetables in olive oil and seasoning of salt and pepper. When the vegetable are beginning to soften up they are ready to serve!

Add pesto and basil for a delicious topping.
